As some of you will probably know, our sister Church, St John's Cudworth, is currently facing a significant challenge due to the urgent need for some very expensive repairs. These repairs are crucial to ensuring the continued safety and functionality of the church, which has served as a vital community hub for many years. The financial burden associated with these necessary renovations is considerable, and as a community, we are rallying together to support this cause.
In an inspiring show of commitment and courage, Fr. Darren has decided to take on a daring fundraising initiative to help raise the necessary funds for St John's. He will be abseiling down the side of the magnificent Liverpool Cathedral on Saturday, July 19th. This adventurous endeavour not only highlights Fr. Darren's dedication to the church and its community but also serves as a thrilling opportunity to engage with both parishioners and the wider public. The breath-taking backdrop of the cathedral, known for its stunning architecture and historical significance, will add an exhilarating element to this fundraising event.
If you would like to support Fr. Darren in this remarkable challenge, there are several ways you can contribute. You can sponsor him directly, which would greatly aid in the fundraising efforts for St John's. Your generosity will not only help cover the costs of the repairs but will also reinforce the sense of community and shared purpose that binds us all together. Additionally, if you are unable to sponsor him financially, we encourage you to come along and watch this exciting event unfold. Your presence would mean a great deal to Fr. Darren and would further demonstrate our collective support for St John's.
To facilitate sponsorship and attendance, there is a list available at the back of the church. We invite everyone to take a moment to sign up, whether to pledge your support or simply to express your interest in attending the event. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to come together, not only to support a worthy cause but also to celebrate our community spirit. Let us unite in our efforts to ensure that St John's Cudworth remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all.
