Celebrating 80 Years of VE Day with Afternoon Tea and a Brass Band Concert

On Saturday 10th May we enjoyed a delightful slap-up tea which was followed by a concert given by our friends at Cawthorne Brass Band. The first half of the concert featured music from film and TV, and included solos played by some of the fine musicians from within the band. The second half had a traditional Last Night of the Proms Concert theme and gave everyone chance to belt out favourite songs (Jerusalem, Land of Hope & Glory and Rule Britannia) whilst waving Union Jacks. The band even had enough puff left to give us an encore.
